Partially, darts still have the aura of a pub sport. And indeed, there is hardly a pub without a dartboard, where more or less drunk guests try their hand at sociable dart throwing. Darts is a precision sport that demands the highest concentration from an ambitious player. A 180, the highest possible score you can throw with three darts, is not something you can just throw from a standstill, except for a few super talents. Hitting specific fields accurately requires absolute concentration and, above all, a lot of training. The right equipment, namely a set of decent darts, which today are no longer made of brass but of a tungsten alloy, is also part of it. Sure, you can also play with cheap darts from the discounter and throw high scores, but the larger diameter of these darts alone makes it unnecessarily difficult. Modern darts made of tungsten can be manufactured significantly thinner due to the higher density and resulting higher specific weight. This makes it much easier to hit the small treble or double fields immensely.
